Youssoufa Moukoko’s True Age in Question: Father Claims Falsification

Recent revelations have cast doubt on the true age of Youssoufa Moukoko, the young striker currently on loan at Nice from Borussia Dortmund. According to a report by Bild, Moukoko’s age may have been understated by four years in official documents.

Joseph Moukoko, previously believed to be the footballer’s father, has come forward with startling claims. In a sworn statement, he asserted that neither he nor his wife Marie are Youssoufa’s biological parents, and that the player was not born on November 20, 2004, in Yaoundé, Cameroon, as officially recorded.

Joseph Moukoko detailed how he obtained false birth documents in Cameroon and subsequently secured a German passport for Youssoufa, bringing him to Germany as his son. He alleges that Youssoufa’s actual birth date is July 19, 2000, making him four years older than his official age.

If true, these allegations would have significant implications for Moukoko’s career. His participation in Borussia Dortmund’s youth team and the German U-21 national team would have been in violation of age restrictions. Notable achievements, such as winning the U-17 German championship in 2018 and competing in the U-21 European Championship in 2021, would be called into question.

Joseph Moukoko also disclosed a fraudulent scheme involving himself and his wife, claiming they received monthly payments from Borussia Dortmund and a sponsor without actually working.

Officially, Youssoufa Moukoko is 20 years old. He made his debut for Borussia Dortmund in November 2020, supposedly at age 16. He has since played 99 matches for the club, scoring 18 goals, and has appeared twice for the German national team. Currently on loan at Nice, he has scored 2 goals in 13 appearances this season.

Moukoko holds several “youngest player” records in the Bundesliga and Champions League. His market value is estimated at 18 million euros. These achievements and valuations may now be subject to scrutiny in light of these age falsification claims.
