The 2026 FIFA World Cup is approaching, with several notable changes. For the first time, the tournament will be hosted by multiple countries: Mexico, USA, and Canada. Additionally, the competition will expand to include 48 teams, making it the largest World Cup to date.
UEFA has conducted the draw for the European qualification phase. Here are the groups:

- Group C: Denmark/Portugal loser, Greece, Scotland, Belarus

- Group E: Netherlands/Spain winner, Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria
- Group F: Denmark/Portugal winner, Hungary, Ireland, Armenia
- Group G: Netherlands/Spain loser, Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Malta

The qualification matches will take place between September and November 2025. Some group seedings depend on the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals in March. Quarter-final losers will join five-team groups, while winners enter four-team groups.
Spain’s group opponents will be determined by their performance against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final. A victory would place them with Turkey, Georgia, and Bulgaria, while a loss would result in facing Poland, Finland, Lithuania, and Malta.
