West Ham Preparing £25m Bid for English Center-Back in January Transfer Window

According to recent reports, West Ham United are gearing up to make a significant move in the January transfer window. The London club is reportedly preparing a £25 million bid for AC Milan’s English center-back Fikayo Tomori. However, they face stiff competition from other Premier League sides eager to secure the defender’s services.

West Ham’s defensive woes have been evident this season, with the team conceding 30 goals in the Premier League so far – the sixth-highest in the league. Despite recent signings aimed at bolstering their backline, manager Julen Lopetegui remains under pressure as the team sits in 14th place, just eight points above the relegation zone.

Tomori, who has fallen down the pecking order at AC Milan, has started only six games this season and hasn’t been in the starting lineup for over two months. Despite having two and a half years left on his current contract, Milan may be open to selling the defender to avoid a potential decrease in his market value.

The 25-year-old England international, once praised as being “better than De Ligt” by Italian football pundit Paolo Ziliani, could benefit from a change of scenery to rejuvenate his career. A return to London with West Ham might provide the perfect opportunity for Tomori to rediscover his best form.

West Ham aren’t alone in their pursuit, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa also reportedly interested in bringing Tomori back to the Premier League. AC Milan is said to be asking for €30 million (approximately £25 million) for the defender.

As the January transfer window approaches, West Ham’s bid for Tomori could be a crucial move in their efforts to shore up their defense and climb up the Premier League table. The potential addition of the former Chelsea player could provide much-needed stability to the Hammers’ backline in the second half of the season.
