Vinicius Junior Named World’s Best Player for 2024

Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has been crowned the world’s best player for 2024 at FIFA’s The Best awards ceremony. The talented striker attended the event in person to receive this prestigious accolade.

The competition for this honor was fierce, with notable contenders including Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Erling Haaland, Toni Kroos, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Rodri, Federico Valverde, Florian Wirtz, and Lamine Yamal. These players represent some of the most elite clubs in world football.

Interestingly, the 2024 Ballon d’Or was awarded to Manchester City’s midfielder Rodri, with Vinicius Junior securing the runner-up position. It’s worth noting that Real Madrid’s delegation was absent from the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The 24-year-old Brazilian had an exceptional previous season with Real Madrid, participating in 39 matches, scoring 24 goals, and providing 11 assists. His contributions were instrumental in Real Madrid’s success, helping the team clinch both the Spanish La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League trophy.
