Vinicius Jr. Crowned Best Footballer of 2024 at Globe Soccer Awards
Real Madrid’s Brazilian star Vinicius Jr. has been honored as the Best Men’s Player of 2024 at the prestigious Globe Soccer Awards. The 24-year-old forward outshone a list of formidable contenders, including teammates Jude Bellingham and Toni Kroos, as well as other football luminaries such as Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi.
This accolade adds to Vinicius’ growing collection of individual honors. Earlier, he was also recognized as the Best Striker of 2024 by the same organization. His exceptional year was further highlighted when he received The Best FIFA Men’s Player award in December and finished as runner-up for the Ballon d’Or in October, second only to Manchester City’s midfield maestro Rodri.
Vinicius’ triumph marks a changing of the guard in football’s elite circles. The previous year’s Globe Soccer Award for Best Player was claimed by Manchester City’s prolific scorer Erling Haaland. Notably, the record for most wins in this category is held by Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo, currently with Al-Nasr, who has claimed the title an impressive six times.
This recognition solidifies Vinicius Jr.’s status as one of the world’s premier footballers and highlights his significant impact on the sport in 2024. It also underscores Real Madrid’s continued influence in producing and nurturing top-tier talent in global football.
