Venezia’s Svoboda Suffers Season-Ending Knee Injury
Venezia FC has been dealt a significant blow as their key defender Michael Svoboda has been sidelined for the rest of the season due to a severe knee injury. The club, currently at the bottom of the league table, will have to navigate the remainder of their campaign without one of their most reliable players.
Svoboda, who has played more minutes than any other Venezia player this season, sustained the injury during the team’s recent match against Juventus. Medical examinations have revealed that the Austrian defender has suffered a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The club has confirmed that Svoboda will undergo surgery on Friday to repair the damaged ligament. The procedure will be performed by Professor Fink at the Gelenkpunkt private clinic in Innsbruck, Austria, with Venezia’s medical staff in attendance.
In Svoboda’s absence, manager Eusebio Di Francesco is expected to rely on Altare to join Sverko and Idzes in the team’s three-man defensive line. This injury comes as a major setback for Venezia, who are fighting to avoid relegation in what has been a challenging season.
The club and fans alike will be hoping for a successful surgery and a swift recovery for Svoboda, as they look ahead to potentially regaining his services for the next campaign.
