Valencia CF Appoints Carlos Corberán as New Head Coach
Valencia CF has made a swift decision following the dismissal of Baraja, announcing Carlos Corberán as the new head coach on Christmas Eve. The Spanish club, currently struggling in La Liga, has moved quickly to secure a replacement.
Corberán joins Valencia from West Bromwich Albion, where he was managing in the English Championship. The Spanish coach leaves the Baggies in seventh place, having made a significant impact during his tenure.
In a heartfelt message to West Brom fans, Corberán expressed his gratitude: “I cannot begin to explain my feelings for West Bromwich Albion, its fans, and everyone associated with the club. In my two-plus years here, I’ve received nothing but LOVE from this community, and the decision to leave has been the most difficult of my life. There will ALWAYS be a place in my heart for this special club, and I hope to return someday to thank everyone for their incredible support.”
Valencia’s decision comes after a disappointing first half of the season, with the team currently second-to-last in La Liga with only twelve points. The club’s management hopes Corberán can turn their fortunes around.
Upcoming Schedule
Despite the official announcement, Corberán won’t immediately take charge due to the Christmas holidays. His presentation date is yet to be confirmed but is expected to be after Christmas Day. Valencia is set to resume training in the coming days, with their next match, a rescheduled fixture against Real Madrid, taking place on January 3rd.
