UEFA Selects Venues for 2025 Super Cup and Nations League Finals
The UEFA Executive Committee has made important decisions regarding upcoming football events. The 2025 UEFA Super Cup, which pits the Champions League winner against the Europa League champion, will be held at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy on August 13, 2025.
Udinese’s director general Franco Collavino expressed pride in hosting this prestigious match, emphasizing its significance not only for sports but also for the city of Udine and the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The stadium previously hosted matches during the 2019 European Under-21 Championship and four Italian national team games.
Additionally, UEFA has decided on potential venues for the 2025 Nations League Final Four. The tournament will take place from June 4 to 8, with the host country dependent on the outcome of a playoff between Italy and Germany. If Italy prevails, matches will be split between Turin’s Allianz Stadium and Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Should Germany win, Munich and Stuttgart will serve as host cities.
These decisions highlight the importance of modern stadiums in attracting major international events. While some Italian clubs continue to face challenges in developing new venues due to bureaucratic hurdles, those who have successfully upgraded their facilities are now reaping the benefits of UEFA recognition.
