Udinese Manager Runjaic Shares Insights on Inter Clash and Squad Rotation

Kosta Runjaic, Udinese’s head coach, recently addressed the media during the club’s Christmas celebration. He reflected on the team’s journey so far and focused on their upcoming Coppa Italia round of 16 match against Inter. The manager indicated that while there might be some rotation, he doesn’t plan to make sweeping changes to the lineup.

Discussing the team’s progress, Runjaic stated, “Challenging paths often lead to significant achievements. We’ve made a good start since June, but we’re aware that Serie A presents numerous obstacles. I’m confident our journey will yield important results.”

Regarding the Inter match, Runjaic acknowledged some midfield challenges due to player absences. “We’ll face difficulties in midfield without Zarraga, Payero, and Lovric. However, we’ll field the strongest possible team. There will be some rotation, but we won’t radically alter the formation. It’s an opportunity to give playing time to less-featured players. We’ll maintain our three-man defense.”

When asked about Alexis Sanchez, Runjaic revealed, “Tomorrow is his birthday. He could potentially start, but I haven’t made a final decision yet.”
