Udinese Defender Bijol Comments on Inter Milan Transfer Speculation
Jaka Bijol, the Udinese center-back, has addressed recent transfer rumors connecting him to Inter Milan. The Slovenian defender praised Inter as the top club in Serie A but emphasized that no formal offers have been made yet.
Ahead of Udinese’s Coppa Italia clash with Inter, Bijol spoke to the Italian Football Podcast about the speculation surrounding his future. He expressed flattery at Inter’s reported interest, stating: “Of course it’s nice to hear, but in football there are many rumors. Until something concrete happens, there’s not much to discuss.”
The 25-year-old went on to share his career aspirations, saying: “I definitely have ambitions to play in the Champions League and Premier League. I hope that opportunity comes.”
Bijol, whose contract with Udinese runs until 2027, has made 17 appearances this season, contributing two goals and one assist. While Inter are reportedly keen to bolster their defensive options, Bijol made it clear that nothing is certain at this stage regarding a potential move.
The defender also praised Inter’s recent form, particularly highlighting their impressive performance against Lazio. “I think Inter is still the strongest team. They showed again versus Lazio that they’re ready for big games,” Bijol commented.
As the transfer window approaches, Bijol’s situation will likely be one to monitor for Inter fans and Serie A observers alike. For now, the Slovenian remains focused on his duties with Udinese as they prepare to face the team he considers Italy’s best.
