Trapani President Antonini Eyes Future Lazio Ownership
Valerio Antonini, the current president of Trapani, has hinted at his aspirations to potentially lead Lazio in the future. The Roman entrepreneur, who has been instrumental in reviving sports in the Sicilian city, shared his thoughts with Corriere dello Sport about his vision for the Serie A club.
Antonini, a passionate Lazio supporter, speculated on current owner Claudio Lotito’s future with the club: “I suspect Lotito will eventually grow weary. Never say never. I see him as tired. I know Claudio well; he’s a skilled man with unique intelligence. He has a breaking point in mind, and I’m confident he wants to end this experience on a positive note.”
The businessman, who owns both Trapani’s football and basketball teams, also highlighted his existing connections to Lazio. “My cousin is part of Lazio’s medical staff, and I have an excellent relationship with Angelo Fabiani, the club’s sporting director,” Antonini revealed.
However, before considering any move towards Lazio, Antonini is committed to completing his projects in Sicily. “I envision my future at Formello (Lazio’s training ground), but first, I want to finish the Sports City project in Trapani,” he stated. Antonini’s current business ventures in agricultural product trading generate an annual turnover exceeding 300 million euros.
