Tottenham’s Richarlison Likely to Stay Put in January Transfer Window
Despite interest from several Brazilian clubs, Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison is reportedly not planning to leave the Premier League side in January. This news comes amid speculation about the Brazilian’s future at Spurs following injury troubles and interest from teams in his homeland.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is currently dealing with a selection crisis due to injuries and suspensions affecting multiple key players. Richarlison himself is sidelined until 2025 with a thigh injury. However, this has not stopped Brazilian clubs from exploring the possibility of bringing the £60 million signing back to his native country.
Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt recently confirmed his club’s interest in Richarlison, while Flamengo is also said to have made contact regarding a potential January move. Other Brazilian sides like Corinthians, Palmeiras and Vasco have reportedly inquired about the striker as well.
Despite the widespread interest, journalist Thiago Asmar claims Richarlison will not be departing Tottenham in the upcoming transfer window. Asmar states he spoke directly with the player, who explained that Spurs view him as an important part of the squad for the second half of the season and will reject any approaches.
This news suggests Tottenham are committed to keeping Richarlison for now, likely disappointing the Brazilian clubs hoping to secure his services. It appears the striker will remain in North London as Spurs look to push on in the Premier League once he returns from injury.
