Tottenham Hesitant on £25m Juventus Midfielder Deal Despite Opportunity
Tottenham Hotspur have been presented with the opportunity to sign Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli for £25 million in the January transfer window. However, manager Ange Postecoglou is currently hesitant to approve the deal.
With Tottenham facing an injury crisis, especially in defense, Postecoglou acknowledged the need for reinforcements in January. He stated that while some solutions may come internally as players return from injury, the club is open to new signings “if the right players are there.”
According to reports, intermediaries have offered Fagioli to several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham. The 23-year-old Italian is said to be interested in a move to London. However, Postecoglou and other key figures at Spurs are not rushing to finalize any deal for Fagioli at this time.
While Tottenham are in the market for a midfielder of Fagioli’s profile, the club is carefully considering their January transfer plans and wants to avoid any panic buys. Despite Fagioli’s limited playing time at Juventus this season, he has been highly praised by some in the football world for his talent and potential.
Former AC Milan executive Ariedo Braida compared Fagioli’s development to that of Andrea Pirlo, suggesting he could excel as a deep-lying playmaker. However, for now, Tottenham appear to be taking a cautious approach to the potential signing as they weigh up their options for the January window.
