Tottenham Eye World-Class £70M Striker as Potential Attack Upgrade

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram as they look to bolster their attacking options. The French international could provide an upgrade over recent signing Dominic Solanke.

According to reports from Spain, Tottenham are among several top clubs monitoring Thuram’s situation at Inter. However, the Serie A side are demanding a hefty fee of around £70 million for the striker.

While expensive, Thuram’s stats suggest he would be a significant improvement on Solanke up front:

  • Thuram: 12 goals, 6 assists in 20 games this season
  • Solanke: 7 goals, 4 assists in 21 games

The French striker also outperforms Solanke in key metrics like shots on target, key passes, and goal-creating actions per 90 minutes.

At 26 years old, Thuram is entering his prime and could lead Tottenham’s attack for years to come. His pace, power and technical ability make him an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.

While competition from clubs like Real Madrid and PSG will be fierce, Tottenham have shown ambition in the transfer market recently. Signing a world-class striker like Thuram would be a major statement of intent as they push for Champions League qualification.

The hefty price tag may be a stumbling block, but Thuram’s quality suggests he would be worth the investment as Tottenham look to take their attack to the next level.
