Thuram: “Winning with Inter is unforgettable, I want another Scudetto in 2025”

Marcus Thuram, striker for Inter Milan and the French national team, shared his thoughts on his current situation and plans for 2024 in an extensive interview with TF1’s Téléfoot program.

Thuram described playing at San Siro for France against Italy as “magnificent”, saying he savored every moment from the national anthem to the final whistle. He brushed off criticisms of the French team, stating that dealing with critique is part of being a professional athlete and that top players must rise above it.

Regarding his role in the national team, Thuram aims to give his all for the jersey, support his teammates, and maintain a positive atmosphere. He’s not obsessed with scoring for France, preferring to play well overall rather than score in a poor performance.

Thuram spoke warmly of his friendly rivalry with Randal Kolo Muani and mentioned missing Kylian Mbappé’s presence in the squad. He’s pleased with his start at Inter Milan, though he feels the team can still improve to reach last season’s level.

Looking ahead to 2025, Thuram hopes to win another league title with Inter, describing it as an unforgettable experience he wants to relive. He’s taking things step by step regarding the 2026 World Cup.

On the demanding match schedule, Thuram acknowledged it takes a toll mentally and physically. His solution? “I sleep a lot,” he quipped.
