Thuram Pledges Loyalty to Inter and Aspires to Follow Henry’s Career Path
Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram has made a strong commitment to the club, stating he will not utilize his €85 million release clause to depart. The French international, currently leading the Serie A scoring charts, expressed his dedication to Inter in a recent interview.
Thuram, who joined Inter on a free transfer in 2023, has a contract until 2028. Regarding his release clause, he said, “I’ll never use it to leave Inter due to my relationship with everyone here. Any decisions will always involve discussions with the club.”
The 27-year-old striker is focused on improving his skills rather than setting goal targets. He mentioned working on headers and increasing his speed as areas for development. Thuram also noted how his understanding of teammates’ playing styles has enhanced his performance.
Reflecting on his upbringing as the son of football legend Lilian Thuram, Marcus admitted it was sometimes challenging. He recalled facing skepticism about his abilities, but used it as motivation to prove himself on the field.
Looking to the future, Thuram expressed interest in following Thierry Henry’s footsteps as a TV pundit for American networks after retirement. He appreciates the more relaxed approach to football analysis in the U.S. compared to Europe.
Thuram also touched on the recent medical emergency during a match against Fiorentina, emphasizing the human aspect of football beyond its business side. He concluded by sharing his excitement about playing at Parma’s stadium, where he was born, in an upcoming fixture.
