Theo Hernandez’s Agent Confirms Player’s Desire to Extend Milan Contract
Theo Hernandez’s representative met with AC Milan officials today and clarified that while contract extension discussions were not on the agenda, the player is keen to remain with the club and sign a new deal.
The left-back’s future at Milan had been called into question following coach Paulo Fonseca’s criticism of players’ attitudes in a recent Champions League match. Hernandez was subsequently left out of the starting lineup for Milan’s Serie A fixture against Genoa, which ended in a goalless draw.
Agent Manuel Garcia Quilon, who traveled to Milan for talks with the club, spoke to the media after the meeting. He stated, “We didn’t discuss contract renewal today, but rather fiscal matters. However, the intention is clear – Theo wants to stay and sign a new agreement. We’ve expressed this multiple times.”
Regarding Hernandez’s recent omission from the starting eleven, Quilon diplomatically commented, “These decisions are not up to the player. He respects his teammates, and when one player is on the field, another inevitably isn’t. This has happened with Rafael Leao as well. We must respect the coach’s decisions.”
Hernandez’s current contract with Milan runs until June 2026. The club is reportedly offering an improved salary of €5 million per season plus bonuses, up from his current €4 million. With negotiations ongoing, both parties seem eager to reach an agreement to secure Hernandez’s long-term future at the San Siro.
