Strasbourg’s Pursuit of Yeremay Hernandez Hits Roadblock

RC Strasbourg Alsace’s attempt to acquire Deportivo de la Coruña’s promising winger Yeremay Hernandez has encountered a setback. The French club’s initial offer of €10 million was rebuffed by the Spanish side, who are standing firm on their valuation of the 22-year-old talent.

Hernandez, currently plying his trade in Spain’s second tier, has caught the attention of several European clubs. His contract includes a release clause of €20 million, which Deportivo seems intent on holding out for. The La Liga 2 outfit appears unwilling to negotiate below this figure.

BlueCo, the parent company of both Chelsea and Strasbourg, has shown significant interest in securing Hernandez’s services. There are discussions about the possibility of Chelsea signing the player and then loaning him to Strasbourg. However, this arrangement would require terminating one of the existing loan deals between the two clubs, with injured player Caleb Wiley being the most likely candidate.

The competition for Hernandez’s signature extends beyond BlueCo’s sphere of influence. Italian giants Napoli and Portuguese powerhouse Porto have also expressed interest in the young Spanish winger, potentially setting the stage for a bidding war.

As the transfer saga unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Strasbourg will increase their bid or if other suitors will step in to meet Deportivo’s asking price for the highly-rated Yeremay Hernandez.
