Spurs Target £40M “Diamond” as Potential Kulusevski 2.0 and Maddison Upgrade

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Charles De Ketelaere from Atalanta as a potential upgrade on James Maddison and successor to Dejan Kulusevski. The Belgian playmaker is valued at around £40 million and is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.

De Ketelaere’s versatility and attacking output make him an intriguing target for Spurs. Like Kulusevski, he can play multiple attacking positions and is excelling after moving from a top Italian club. The 23-year-old has 8 goals and 9 assists in 23 appearances for Atalanta this season.

Compared to Maddison, De Ketelaere is averaging more goal involvements per match (0.73 vs 0.52) and has a better minutes per goal involvement ratio (86.41 vs 117.91). He also has a cleaner injury record than the England international.

While Maddison has impressed since joining Spurs, De Ketelaere’s ceiling appears even higher. At just £40 million, he could prove to be a shrewd investment as Tottenham look to build an exciting attacking unit under Ange Postecoglou.

The Belgian’s flair, vision and end product make him an ideal fit for Postecoglou’s system. If Spurs can secure his signature, De Ketelaere has the potential to be their next attacking star in the mold of Kulusevski.
