Spurs eye £29m star defender as major upgrade over Dragusin
Tottenham Hotspur’s season has been severely impacted by defensive injuries, with manager Ange Postecoglou forced to rely on makeshift center-back pairings. Recent reports suggest Spurs are targeting Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar as a potential solution to their defensive woes.
According to sources, Tottenham are among 11 clubs interested in Skriniar, who PSG may make available for around £29 million in January. The experienced Slovakian international could provide a significant upgrade over current option Radu Dragusin.
At 6’2″, Skriniar has the physical presence to handle Premier League attackers. He also excels with the ball at his feet, ranking in the top 1% of center-backs in Europe’s top five leagues for passes attempted and completed per 90 minutes.
With 246 appearances for Inter Milan and league titles in both Italy and France, Skriniar would bring valuable experience to Tottenham’s backline. His arrival could help stabilize a defense that has struggled with injuries and inconsistency this season.
While competition for Skriniar’s signature is expected to be fierce, his potential availability for a reasonable fee makes him an attractive target for Spurs. If they can complete a deal, the 28-year-old could be the defensive reinforcement Postecoglou desperately needs to get Tottenham’s season back on track.
