Serie A: Parma Secures Late 2-1 Win Against 10-Man Monza
Parma emerged victorious with a dramatic 2-1 win over Monza, who played most of the second half with 10 men. The match marked a disappointing debut for Monza’s new coach Salvatore Bocchetti.
Monza started the game aggressively, with Daniel Maldini hitting the crossbar early on. The visitors had a goal disallowed after VAR review in the opening minutes.
The turning point came in the 54th minute when Pablo Mari received a second yellow card for a tackle on Woyo Coulibaly inside the penalty area. Hernani converted the resulting spot-kick to put Parma ahead.
Despite being a man down, Monza equalized in the 86th minute through Pedro Pereira, assisted by Kevin Martins.
However, Parma snatched victory in the dying moments of the match. Lautaro Valenti headed home from a corner eight minutes into stoppage time, securing all three points for the home side.
The result ends Parma’s three-game losing streak and deals a blow to Monza in their first match under new management.
