Salvatore Bocchetti Takes the Helm at AC Monza
AC Monza has officially announced the appointment of Salvatore Bocchetti as their new head coach. The club released a statement through their official channels, confirming that Bocchetti has signed a contract extending until June 30, 2027.
This move comes after the dismissal of Alessandro Nesta following Monza’s ninth defeat in Serie A, which came against Juventus. The Lombardy-based club has decided to place their trust in Bocchetti, who recently terminated his contract with Hellas Verona, where he had a brief stint of six matches as manager in the 2022/23 season.
Bocchetti, a former player born in 1986, brings fresh perspective to the team. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Adriano Galliani, Monza’s CEO, has brought Bocchetti into the fold. A decade ago, when Bocchetti was still playing as a defender, Galliani signed him on loan for AC Milan from Spartak Moscow for a six-month period from January to June 2015.
With this long-term contract, Monza demonstrates their confidence in Bocchetti’s abilities to lead the team forward and improve their standing in Serie A.
