Rennes Shows Interest in PSG’s Backup Goalkeeper Arnau Tenas
Stade Rennais has reportedly made inquiries about the availability of Paris Saint-Germain’s third-choice goalkeeper, Arnau Tenas. The 23-year-old Spanish keeper, who won a gold medal with his national team last summer, has yet to make an appearance for PSG this season and only played six times in the previous campaign.
Despite his limited playing time, Tenas remains an attractive prospect for other clubs. PSG has been reluctant to part ways with the former Barcelona player, having rejected an approach from RC Lens during the last transfer window. The Parisian club’s manager, Luis Enrique, values maintaining a three-goalkeeper rotation in his squad.
While Tenas has not managed to displace either Gianluigi Donnarumma or Matvei Safonov as the first or second-choice keeper, he continues to play a role within the team. Rennes, meanwhile, is reportedly looking for a potential successor to their 39-year-old goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
At this stage, Rennes’ interest in Tenas appears to be preliminary, with the club having only made an initial inquiry about the player’s status. It remains to be seen whether this interest will develop into a more concrete offer or if PSG will be willing to negotiate a transfer for their backup goalkeeper.
