Real Madrid Signs Young Defender Lamini Fati
Real Madrid has reached an agreement with Leganés for the transfer of Lamini Fati. The 18-year-old center-back has completed his medical examination and will join the Spanish giants on a five-year contract.
Fati, a Spanish player of African descent, previously played for Leganés B in the Tercera RFEF. The left-footed defender has impressed with his physical prowess and ball-playing ability, becoming a key player for Leganés’ reserve team and occasionally training with their first team.
According to reports, Real Madrid paid approximately €120,000 for Fati’s signature. He is expected to initially join Real Madrid’s Juvenil A squad but will also train with the first team, Real Madrid C, and Castilla. This signing addresses the club’s recent shortage of center-backs due to injuries across various teams.
Fati is Real Madrid’s first winter signing and likely not the last for their youth ranks. However, despite defensive injuries in the first team, it appears unlikely that senior reinforcements will arrive this January. The upcoming transfer window, opening on January 1st, will ultimately determine Real Madrid’s market activity.
