PSG Renews Interest in Osimhen, Exploring January Transfer Options
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reportedly rekindled its interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli. The French club is exploring the possibility of a January transfer, which could complicate the existing loan arrangement.
According to French media, PSG has initiated contact with Osimhen’s representatives to gauge his interest in a potential move. The Parisian club had previously shown interest in the summer but balked at Napoli’s €100 million asking price.
Osimhen, who turns 26 soon, has been in excellent form for Galatasaray, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists in 14 matches across all competitions. This performance has kept him on PSG’s radar, especially as they consider reshaping their attacking options.
However, any potential transfer would involve complex negotiations. PSG would need to compensate Galatasaray for ending the loan prematurely and negotiate with Napoli, who may still demand a substantial fee. There’s uncertainty whether Napoli would be willing to lower their €90 million release clause for Osimhen.
The situation could be further influenced by PSG’s plans for their current striker, Randal Kolo Muani. If Kolo Muani departs, it could create space for Osimhen in the squad.
As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on these developments, with PSG potentially making a significant move to bolster their attacking lineup.
