Paul Pogba’s Comeback: French Midfielder Seeks New Club

Paul Pogba is preparing for his return to professional football. After serving a reduced doping ban, the French midfielder will soon be eligible to play again. This winter transfer window could see him join a new club to restart his career.

Pogba will be able to officially play again starting next March. His last match was on September 3, 2023, after which he faced a series of injuries that kept him off the pitch. During one of his recovery periods, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled against him, initially imposing a four-year ban for doping. Fortunately for Pogba, the sanction was reduced to 18 months, allowing him to return to action in March 2025.

Currently, Pogba is without a team and training independently. Although he was previously with Juventus, the Italian club decided to terminate his contract despite the reduced ban. Now, the Frenchman is seeking a new destination, and it seems he has no shortage of suitors.

Aiming for the 2026 World Cup

Pogba’s main goal is to return to the French national team and participate in the 2026 World Cup. He missed the 2022 Qatar World Cup due to injury and hasn’t been seen at Clairefontaine since. To achieve his comeback to the national squad, he first needs to find a club. One team showing significant interest is Olympique de Marseille. The French club successfully convinced Rabiot to join last September despite his PSG past, and now they’re hoping to repeat this strategy with Pogba, who reportedly views a move to Ligue 1 favorably.

International media has been extensively covering Pogba’s situation in recent weeks. At 32, he still has much to offer. English sources have linked him with Manchester City and several other clubs, while there’s also reported interest from teams in Germany and Italy. Where Pogba decides to continue his career remains to be seen.
