Palladino: Fiorentina lost focus and paid the price against Udinese

Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino expressed disappointment with his team’s performance in their 2-1 loss to Udinese. After taking an early lead, Fiorentina appeared to lose concentration and allowed Udinese back into the match.

“We started very well, scoring quickly and creating several chances with quality play,” Palladino said. “However, once we felt in control, we stopped playing with the same intensity. That’s something we cannot afford to do.”

Palladino noted the stark contrast between the first and second halves. “We began the second half poorly and conceded two quick goals, one from our own mistake. We had opportunities to equalize but made poor choices with the final ball.”

The coach emphasized the need to learn from this defeat. “We must analyze our mistakes, while also recognizing that we dominated Udinese for the first 45 minutes. We knew they would defend deeply, and we controlled the match well in that period.”

Palladino saw room for improvement in attack as well. “We lacked sharpness and unselfishness in our finishing. In Serie A, if you don’t finish off a game, a single lapse in concentration can change everything.”

Looking ahead, Palladino expressed hope for the return of injured player Edoardo Bove. “We’re awaiting test results over the coming months. We need him back in football – his passion for the sport is incredible and we fully support him.”
