Nottingham Forest and Marinakis Eyeing £50m Star Alongside PSG and Bayern
Nottingham Forest and their owner Evangelos Marinakis are reportedly monitoring PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko as a potential transfer target. The 21-year-old Belgian international has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe with his impressive performances.
Bakayoko has been a key player for PSV since 2019, helping the club win multiple domestic trophies. This season, he has continued his strong form with 5 goals and 1 assist in 14 Eredivisie appearances so far.
According to reports, Forest are among several clubs keeping tabs on Bakayoko’s situation, alongside European giants like Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United and Liverpool. PSV are said to value the versatile forward at around €60 million (£50 million).
While Forest have not made any official contact yet regarding a transfer, they are monitoring developments closely ahead of the January window. With Bakayoko under contract until 2026, PSV are in a strong negotiating position but may have to consider selling if their asking price is met.
The potential signing of a talent like Bakayoko would represent a major statement of intent from Forest as they look to build on their strong start to the Premier League season under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. However, they face stiff competition from clubs that can offer Champions League football.
Forest are also reportedly interested in other attacking targets like Botafogo’s Igor Jesus and Preston North End prospect Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile as they aim to strengthen their squad in January. The coming weeks will likely provide more clarity on their transfer plans and chances of landing a marquee signing like Bakayoko.
