Newcastle target Rangers’ rising star likened to Drogba
As the January transfer window approaches, Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on Rangers forward Hamza Igamane, a player who has drawn comparisons to Premier League legend Didier Drogba. The 22-year-old striker has been impressing in Scotland, recently scoring against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League.
According to reports, Newcastle are among several Premier League clubs, including Everton and West Ham, who have sent scouts to watch Igamane. The young forward has netted 6 goals in 17 appearances this season for Rangers.
With Callum Wilson’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Newcastle may view Igamane as a potential replacement. His former teammate Leon Balogun has praised Igamane’s strength and ball control, likening him to Drogba.
If Igamane can live up to such lofty comparisons, he could prove to be an excellent signing for Newcastle as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Magpies may move for the promising striker as early as January or wait until the summer transfer window.
