Napoli and Fiorentina Consider Defender Exchange

According to multiple Italian sources, Napoli and Fiorentina are currently engaged in talks regarding a potential exchange of left-backs Cristiano Biraghi and Leonardo Spinazzola during the January transfer window.

Both defenders have seen limited playing time at their respective clubs this season. Notably, Biraghi was recently left out of Fiorentina’s squad for matches in both the Conference League and Serie A, with Coach Raffaele Palladino confirming these were “technical decisions.”

The proposed swap deal could benefit both players, offering them fresh opportunities at new clubs. Interestingly, Biraghi has also attracted interest from José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, adding another dimension to his potential transfer options.

In addition to the defender swap, reports suggest that Napoli’s Michael Folorunsho is being considered by Fiorentina as a potential replacement for Edoardo Bove. Meanwhile, Napoli is also in the market for a new center-back, with Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, Juventus’ Danilo, and free agent Luiz Felipe among their reported targets.

As the January transfer window approaches, these negotiations highlight the active maneuvering of Serie A clubs to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season.
