Nantes Open to Welcoming Back Randal Kolo Muani as PSG Stint Falters

Randal Kolo Muani, the 26-year-old French striker, finds himself in a precarious position at Paris Saint-Germain, with a January transfer becoming increasingly likely. Having been excluded from PSG’s matchday squad for two consecutive Ligue 1 fixtures, manager Luis Enrique’s actions speak volumes about Kolo Muani’s standing in the team.

As the January transfer window approaches, several clubs have shown interest in the France international. Reports suggest that Manchester United and AS Monaco are among the potential suitors. Monaco, in particular, is seeking a temporary replacement for the injured Folarin Balogun, although their manager Adi Hütter acknowledges that Kolo Muani may not be the most economical option.

Surprisingly, FC Nantes, currently battling relegation in Ligue 1, has emerged as a contender for Kolo Muani’s signature. The striker began his professional career with Les Canaris before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022. Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of Kolo Muani returning to the Beaujoire stadium.

During a press conference on Thursday, Kombouaré stated, “If I’m informed that it’s feasible, I would personally go to bring him back. I’d drive there and back myself. I would seize the opportunity without hesitation, but it’s up to the executives to discuss it.” While a return to Nantes may seem unlikely, it’s clear that the struggling club would welcome Kolo Muani with open arms.
