Nantes Explores Coaching Options as Kombouaré’s Future Hangs in Balance
FC Nantes is reportedly considering a change in leadership following their recent 4-1 defeat to Stade Brestois. Current head coach Antoine Kombouaré’s position appears to be in jeopardy, with the club’s management losing confidence in his ability to turn things around.
Despite a promising start to the season and a recent victory that lifted Nantes out of the relegation zone, Kombouaré’s tenure seems to be on shaky ground. This wouldn’t be the first time he has faced dismissal from the club, having previously been replaced by Pierre Aristouy in May 2023.
As the club contemplates a potential coaching change, two names have emerged as possible successors. The primary target appears to be Sérgio Conceição, with Nantes hoping for a reunion with their former manager. Another candidate under consideration is Habib Beye, who has been linked to various managerial positions since departing Red Star FC at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
Interestingly, Conceição had previously been associated with the West Ham United job. However, recent developments at the London club may have altered that situation. As Nantes weighs its options, the coming days could prove crucial in determining the future direction of the team’s leadership.
