McKennie Expresses Desire to Remain at Juventus and Prove His Worth
Weston McKennie, the American midfielder, has expressed his desire to continue his career with Juventus. Having been with the Italian club since 2020, McKennie has faced numerous challenges but consistently managed to secure his position in the team.
In a recent interview, McKennie stated, “I’m content at Juventus and enjoy living in Turin. I’ve been here for four years and wish to stay as long as possible, though it ultimately depends on the club’s decision.” He added that discussions regarding a contract extension have not yet commenced.
McKennie’s versatility has been a significant asset for Juventus. He has played in various positions, including as a makeshift left-back in a recent Coppa Italia match against Cagliari. “I’m happy to play anywhere on the field, even as a goalkeeper if needed,” McKennie joked, highlighting his adaptability.
Addressing the doubts that surrounded his initial move to Juventus, McKennie said, “When I first arrived, many thought Juventus would be too big a club for me. I’ve been working hard to change that perception.” His efforts seem to be paying off, as he has become an integral part of the team.
Regarding Juventus’ current season performance, McKennie acknowledged the team’s inconsistency. “We haven’t lost many games, but we’ve had too many draws. Our focus now is on the upcoming match against Monza, which we need to approach with the same intensity as we would against a top team like Manchester City,” he explained.
As Juventus prepares for future challenges, including the Supercoppa in Saudi Arabia, McKennie’s commitment and versatility continue to be valuable assets for the Italian giants.
