Matthäus Criticizes Vinicius Jr. and Compares Him to Neymar
Lothar Matthäus, the legendary German footballer, has expressed criticism towards Real Madrid and Brazil national team forward Vinicius Jr.
“To me, he’s a second Neymar,” Matthäus stated. “He’s incredibly talented, but like Neymar, he’s stubborn. He engages in conflicts with opponents and provokes them with gestures. Vinicius possesses excellent qualities and world-class speed, but he’s taking the wrong path with his behavior. Neymar is not the right role model to follow. That’s why I believe choosing Rodri as the Ballon d’Or winner was the right decision. Rodri has more charisma and intelligence. Vinicius needs to mature; then he’ll have everything it takes to become a world-class player.”
The 24-year-old Brazilian has participated in 21 matches across all competitions this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists.
