Marseille President Addresses Paul Pogba Transfer Speculation
Following the reduction of Paul Pogba’s doping ban to 18 months, speculation has been rife about the French midfielder’s future when he becomes eligible to play again in March 2025. Olympique de Marseille has emerged as a potential destination, with former teammates like Patrice Evra and Adrien Rabiot publicly endorsing the move.
While there appears to be mutual interest between Pogba and Marseille, club president Pablo Longoria has clarified the current situation. In a recent press conference, Longoria stated, “At present, there are no ongoing discussions or decisions regarding Paul Pogba. We’re not ruling out the possibility, as he will be available, but much of the current talk is more speculative than factual.”
Pogba, whose contract with Juventus was recently terminated by mutual agreement, is reportedly keen on continuing his career in one of Europe’s top leagues, including Ligue 1. However, Marseille is not the only club showing interest, with reports suggesting that Manchester City is also considering the 31-year-old midfielder.
As Pogba prepares to return to training next month, the football world eagerly awaits his next move. While Marseille remains a potential destination, Longoria’s comments indicate that any concrete developments are still some way off.
