Marseille Considering Angers’ Himad Abdelli as Potential Number 10

Olympique de Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is still on the hunt for a reliable number 10 to strengthen his squad. One player who has caught the club’s attention is 25-year-old Himad Abdelli from SCO Angers.

The position has been a challenge for Marseille this season. Valentín Carboni, on loan from Inter Milan, arrived injured and then suffered a season-ending ACL injury just as he was regaining form. Amine Harit briefly filled the role but has been absent since late October following a red card in Le Classique and subsequent calf injury. Reports suggest Harit may be allowed to leave in January.

Abdelli, the Angers captain and Algerian international, has been impressive this season with four goals in 15 appearances. His performances have not gone unnoticed by Marseille, who may be looking to acquire a new number 10 in the upcoming transfer window.

As Marseille continues to evaluate their options, Abdelli remains a promising candidate to fill the creative midfield role that De Zerbi has struggled to solidify in his team.
