Marseille Coach Open to Welcoming Paul Pogba
Speculation is rife about Paul Pogba’s potential move to Olympique de Marseille. The 31-year-old French midfielder, currently without a club, will be eligible to play again in March 2025 after his doping ban was reduced to 18 months. Pogba’s contract with Juventus was terminated in November, leaving him as a free agent.
Marseille has been strongly linked with Pogba. His former teammate Adrien Rabiot has publicly encouraged Pogba to join Marseille. The club’s sporting director and president have also addressed the rumors, with President Pablo Longoria stating that while there are currently no discussions, he’s not ruling out the possibility.
Reports suggest that Marseille’s interest in Pogba is genuine and mutual. The latest to comment on the situation is Marseille’s manager, Roberto De Zerbi. In a press conference, De Zerbi expressed his desire to have champions in his team, acknowledging Pogba’s status as a champion. While admitting that Pogba hasn’t been discussed in staff meetings, De Zerbi added, “If champions are coming, we can try to find space for Paul Pogba.”
These comments from De Zerbi are likely to fuel further speculation about Pogba’s potential move to Marseille. As the situation develops, all eyes will be on the French club and the former Manchester United star.
