Manchester United Approaches £62m Star as Potential Rashford Replacement
According to recent reports, Manchester United has made contact regarding the potential signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. This move comes as speculation grows about Marcus Rashford’s future at the club.
Rashford has struggled to find form this season, leading to rumors that new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe may be willing to sell the England international to raise funds for new signings. The forward was notably left out of the squad for United’s recent derby win over Manchester City.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in excellent form and is attracting interest from several top clubs. The Italian side are said to be seeking around £62 million for the striker, who has been described as a “monster” by some analysts.
United face competition for Osimhen’s signature, with Juventus also reportedly interested as they look for a potential replacement for Dušan Vlahović. However, the Premier League giants are keen to convince the Nigerian to move to Old Trafford.
A move for Osimhen could signal a major shift in United’s attack, with the 24-year-old offering a different skill set to Rashford. His goalscoring record and lower wage demands compared to Rashford may make him an attractive option for the club’s new leadership.
As the January transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether United will be able to complete a deal for Osimhen and if Rashford’s time at his boyhood club is coming to an end.
