Luis de la Fuente Named Best National Team Coach of 2024
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has recognized Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of the Spanish national team, as the top national team manager for the year 2024.
In the final tally, the 63-year-old tactician amassed an impressive 274 points, comfortably surpassing Argentina’s Lionel Scaloni (148 points) and France’s Didier Deschamps (35 points).
Under de la Fuente’s guidance, Spain clinched victory in the 2024 European Championship. Throughout the year, the “Red Fury” participated in 17 matches, securing 14 wins, drawing twice, and suffering a single defeat.
The IFFHS top ten list for national team coaches also included former England manager Gareth Southgate, Emerse Faé of Ivory Coast, Julian Nagelsmann representing Germany, Nestor Lorenzo from Colombia, Vincenzo Montella of Turkey, Willy Sagnol leading Georgia, and Marcelo Bielsa at the helm of Uruguay.
