Lens Eyes Dutch Forward Sontje Hansen from NEC Nijmegen

RC Lens is facing a challenging situation with their attacking lineup due to a series of injuries. The French club is now looking to reinforce their squad, with NEC Nijmegen’s Sontje Hansen emerging as a potential target.

Hansen, a 22-year-old Dutch forward, has been making waves in the Eredivisie this season. Primarily playing as a right-winger, he has demonstrated his versatility across the forward line. Since joining NEC Nijmegen on a free transfer from Ajax in the summer of 2023, Hansen has netted five goals and provided one assist in 18 appearances.

The young Dutchman’s potential has been evident since his youth career. He notably won the Golden Boot at the 2019 U17 World Cup with the Netherlands, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess on the international stage.

Lens’ interest in Hansen comes as no surprise, given their current predicament. The club has been hit hard by injuries to key attackers, including Martín Satriano and Rémy Labeau Lascary, both of whom are likely to miss the remainder of the season. Additionally, the departure of Elye Wahi to Olympique de Marseille has left a void in their offensive lineup.

With Hansen’s current market value estimated at around €5 million, he could represent a smart investment for Lens as they look to maintain their competitive edge in Ligue 1. The January transfer window may provide the perfect opportunity for the French club to secure this promising talent and bolster their attacking options for the second half of the season.
