Kylian Mbappé Reflects on PSG Ties After Real Madrid Transfer

Real Madrid’s new striker Kylian Mbappé has recently opened up about his enduring connection to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), his former club. In a candid statement, Mbappé expressed, “I still consider myself Parisian, but now solely as a supporter,” as reported by RMC Sport.

Mbappé’s tenure with PSG spanned from 2018 to 2024, during which he made an impressive 308 appearances for the French powerhouse. This summer marked a significant change in his career as he made the move to Real Madrid, committing to the Spanish giants until 2029.

The transition hasn’t been without complications. On September 12, the French Professional Football League (LFP) directed PSG to settle a substantial wage debt of 55 million euros owed to the 25-year-old footballer. In response, Mbappé filed a complaint with the LFP’s disciplinary committee regarding the unpaid wages. However, his claim was dismissed after PSG initiated legal proceedings against the LFP in a Parisian court.

Despite these financial disputes, Mbappé’s affection for PSG remains evident, highlighting the complex emotions often involved when top players change clubs. His comments suggest a desire to maintain a positive relationship with PSG and its fans, even as he embarks on a new chapter with Real Madrid.
