Juventus squad update: Three players return, one new doubt for Fiorentina clash
Ahead of Juventus’ upcoming Serie A home match against Fiorentina on Sunday, the club received mixed news from Friday’s training session. While three key players returned to full training, a new injury concern emerged for another squad member.
Trio back in contention
In positive developments, midfielders Teun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz, along with defender Danilo, all participated in regular training with the first team. This puts them in contention to feature against Fiorentina after missing recent matches.
Koopmeiners started Juventus’ previous league game, a 2-1 away win over Monza on December 22, but was substituted midway through due to a potential muscle issue. Meanwhile, Brazilian duo Danilo and Douglas Luiz were not included in the matchday squad for that fixture.
New fitness concern
However, Argentine forward Nico Gonzalez has emerged as a fresh doubt for Sunday’s match. Gonzalez trained individually at the club’s Continassa facility on Friday morning, following a personalized program designed to manage his workload and reduce injury risk.
The club will continue to monitor Gonzalez’s status ahead of the clash with his former team Fiorentina. His availability remains uncertain as Juventus aim to maintain their strong league form.
