Juventus Names Squad for Coppa Italia Match Against Cagliari

Juventus manager Thiago Motta has revealed his squad selection for tonight’s Coppa Italia clash with Cagliari at the Allianz Stadium. The list confirms the absence of six players from the matchday squad.

The reigning Coppa Italia champions begin their title defense at home against struggling Serie A side Cagliari. While Juventus remain undefeated in league play this season, they have drawn 10 of their 16 matches and trail league leaders Atalanta by 9 points.

Motta’s squad announcement confirms that Douglas Luiz, Andrea Cambiaso, Jonas Rouhi, Arkadiusz Milik, Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal will all miss the cup tie. The winner of this match will advance to face Empoli in the quarter-finals in February 2025.

Juventus are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Kenan Yildiz playing in support of striker Dusan Vlahovic. Teun Koopmeiners is likely to start in central midfield, while Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie could feature in defense.

The Old Lady will be aiming to progress in the competition as they look to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet this season. However, they will need to be wary of a potential upset against Cagliari.
