Juventus Mulling Over New Deal for McKennie
According to recent reports, Juventus is contemplating offering American midfielder Weston McKennie another contract extension. This comes as somewhat of a surprise, given that McKennie just renewed his contract with the Turin club in August 2024.
The 26-year-old USMNT star has proven his value to Juventus during the 2024-25 season. Despite initial speculation that he may leave following Thiago Motta’s appointment as head coach, McKennie has since demonstrated his capabilities in Serie A.
McKennie’s versatility has been a key asset, with the player comfortable in central midfield as well as filling in at right wing-back, false nine, and most recently at left-back during Juventus’ 2-1 victory over Monza.
Italian outlet Tuttosport reports that Juventus is considering extending McKennie’s contract until 2028, with a potential option for an additional year until 2029. The American’s current deal with the Bianconeri is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
This potential new deal underscores McKennie’s importance to Juventus and suggests the club sees him as a long-term piece of their plans moving forward.
