Juventus Manager Provides Injury Update Ahead of Atalanta Match
Juventus head coach Thiago Motta has provided an update on player availability ahead of Tuesday’s rescheduled Serie A match against Atalanta. Four first-team players have been ruled out due to injuries, while star striker Dusan Vlahovic remains doubtful.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Motta confirmed: “We’ll be without Bremer, Cabal, Conceicao and Milik. We’ll make a late decision on Dusan’s fitness.”
The manager praised young forward Kenan Yildiz, who has scored in consecutive games: “He’s performed well on both wings and through the middle. He’s developing rapidly but still needs to improve defensively.”
Motta also discussed the performances of midfielder Douglas Luiz and left-back Andrea Cambiaso. On Luiz, he said: “We positioned him deeper to free up Thuram. He can push forward like Locatelli does.” Regarding Cambiaso, Motta noted: “He’s regaining fitness and could start tomorrow. He adds versatility on either flank.”
The coach expressed satisfaction with Samuel Mbangula’s rapid progress from the youth team: “His rise has exceeded expectations. He’s taken on responsibility well and put in a mature derby performance.”
Juventus will look to bounce back from Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Torino as they host fourth-placed Atalanta. A win would strengthen their grip on second place in Serie A.
