Juventus Director Giuntoli: No Urgency for Vlahovic Contract Renewal
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has addressed the current situation surrounding striker Dusan Vlahovic’s contract, stating there is no immediate pressure to begin negotiations. Giuntoli emphasized the importance of unity within the club following recent tensions.
“We have an excellent relationship with Vlahovic and his representatives,” Giuntoli told reporters. “His current contract runs until 2025, so we have time to discuss matters after the January transfer window closes. There’s no rush to finalize anything at this stage.”
The director’s comments come after a recent incident where Vlahovic had a heated exchange with some supporters following a disappointing draw. However, Giuntoli stressed the need for solidarity:
“Of course, both the club and fans are disappointed when we don’t win. But it’s crucial that we remain united as we work towards a brighter future that will bring success.”
Giuntoli also touched on Juventus’ challenging start to the season under new manager Thiago Motta. While the team remains unbeaten in Serie A, they have drawn their last four matches:
“We’re implementing new tactical ideas with a new coach, and injuries have slowed our progress after an impressive start. We need to stay positive and look ahead to January when we’ll have reinforcements and players returning from injury.”
The director confirmed Juventus are seeking to add at least one defender in the upcoming transfer window as they aim to strengthen their squad for the second half of the campaign.
