Jorge Mendes: Lamine Yamal’s New Contract with Barcelona Imminent

Jorge Mendes, the agent representing Barcelona midfielder Lamine Yamal, has provided insight into the ongoing negotiations with the club regarding the player’s new contract.

“Lamine Yamal will undoubtedly sign a new contract with Barça. He must remain at Barcelona. I can’t specify when, but it will definitely happen. He had a phenomenal 2024, and in my opinion, he was the best player in the world last year for both the Spanish national team and Barcelona,” Mendes stated, as reported by insider Fabrizio Romano.

The 17-year-old Spanish prodigy’s current contract with the Catalan club is set to expire in the summer of 2026. According to Transfermarkt, the player’s market value is estimated at 150 million euros.

In the current season, Yamal has made 21 appearances for Barcelona across all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 12 assists.
