Italy Coach Spalletti Offers Guidance to Roma’s Dybala and Pellegrini
Luciano Spalletti, the current head coach of the Italian national team, has weighed in on the situations of Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini at AS Roma. Speaking on a popular Italian sports program, Spalletti shared his thoughts on the rumors surrounding Dybala’s potential transfer and Pellegrini’s recent struggles.
Regarding Dybala, who recently scored twice in Roma’s 5-0 victory over Parma, Spalletti emphasized the Argentine’s importance to the team. “Dybala is a player who can elevate the entire squad with his technical skills, vision, and goal-scoring ability,” Spalletti remarked. “His only slight weakness might be physical strength, but he remains a top-tier player.”
When asked about the possibility of Roma selling Dybala to Galatasaray, Spalletti advised against it. “For a club aiming to build a winning mentality, it’s crucial to retain players of Dybala’s caliber,” he stated.
Turning his attention to Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, Spalletti acknowledged the challenges faced by the midfielder. “The current situation at Roma is likely affecting Pellegrini’s performance,” Spalletti observed. “While he possesses quality, the team’s need for immediate results may be forcing a more pragmatic approach in certain positions.”
Spalletti, who has previously managed Roma, added that Pellegrini remains “under observation” for the national team. The midfielder has earned 36 caps for Italy, scoring six goals, including appearances under Spalletti’s management.
As Roma continues to navigate through a period of managerial changes and on-field challenges, Spalletti’s insights offer valuable perspective on two of the club’s key players. His comments suggest that retaining talent like Dybala and supporting players like Pellegrini could be crucial for Roma’s future success.
