Isco: “Let’s see if Ceballos comes soon”

Isco Alarcón has returned to the pitch after overcoming successive fibula injuries. His comeback has been a joy for Betis fans who are now enjoying his football skills and goals. In the match against Rayo Vallecano, Isco played for nearly an hour, scoring his team’s only goal and showcasing glimpses of his great quality.

After the match, Isco, who received the MVP award, spoke to the media about his recent months away from the field and discussed the current state of Real Betis. When asked about his former teammate Dani Ceballos, a player highly desired by Betis supporters, Isco was emphatic: “Let’s see if he comes here soon. He’s making himself wanted, the rascal…”

With Dani Ceballos gaining more prominence at Real Madrid, especially due to the team’s busy schedule, a potential return to Betis seems unlikely, at least in the short term. Although Ceballos has always left the door open for a hypothetical return to Betis, it appears unlikely that he will leave Madrid in the upcoming winter transfer window or that Real Madrid would let him go.

Isco also reflected on his recent months away from the pitch: “Seven months in the gym, seeing things not progressing as one wants, is challenging. I’ve had to rely on patience.” Since suffering a severe fibula fracture last May, which sidelined him for over six months and caused him to miss the Euros, the Málaga-born player has struggled to regain form. Despite returning to Betis training last August, he suffered a setback during preseason and required another surgery.

Now recovered from his injuries, Isco Alarcón is back with Betis, having played his second match of the season against Rayo. It’s expected that the Chilean coach will gradually increase Isco’s playing time, as he’s eager to once again entertain the fans at the Benito Villamarín stadium.
