Inzaghi Discusses Injury Updates and Long-Term Plans at Inter

Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi has provided injury updates on several key players ahead of the team’s upcoming Serie A match against Como. He also reaffirmed his commitment to remain at Inter for the long haul.

Speaking at a press conference, Inzaghi acknowledged that Como will present a challenge, praising their mix of experienced and young talent. He noted the tactical improvements under Como’s coach Cesc Fabregas.

Regarding injuries, Inzaghi said defenders Stefan de Vrij and Matteo Darmian will be evaluated on match day to determine their availability. With Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi already sidelined, Inter’s defense is stretched thin. Midfielder Nicolò Barella has trained well after a minor muscle issue and is expected to be available.

When asked about his future, Inzaghi expressed his desire to remain at Inter “for many years.” He feels appreciated by the club and aims to build on the team’s recent successes. Inzaghi praised the squad’s resilience through difficult periods in 2023.

The coach downplayed suggestions that he is underappreciated, saying he is focused on continual improvement amid fierce competition in Serie A. Inzaghi views the current season as a close battle between 3-4 top teams and believes Inter must elevate their game further to succeed.
